Obituary
NEW BEDFORD; Michael A. Martin, 55, of New Bedford, passed away Friday, June 28, 2013 at St. Luke's Hospital, after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Sandra J. (St. Aubin) Martin.
He was a lifelong resident of New Bedford, the son of the late Maurice Martin and the Helen (Landry) Martin.
Mr. Martin was a longtime fisherman of New Bedford who loved the sea.
Survivors include; his wife of New Bedford, two daughters, Cathy Pereira and her husband Paul, and Laura Silvestre, both of New Bedford, one brother Stephen Martin of New Bedford, two sisters, Susan Breault and Shelly Magnett. Also survived by two grandchildren, Jayleen Couto and Tyler Michael Silvestre, one niece, Madison Martin, two nephews, Chad and Scott Martin.
Calling hours are Sunday, July 7, from 4 to 6 PM, with his cremains present, religious services will be at 5:30 PM at the Cabral Baylies Square-Lamoureux Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 512 No. Front Street, New Bedford. Burial of his cremains at the convenience of the family.
