About	Edwin Garcia, age 63 of New Bedford, passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Selma (Dasilva) Garcia. Born in the Manhattan Borough of New York City, Edwin was the son of the late Francisco and Margarita (Mateo) Garcia. His family moved to the New Bedford area when he was 14 and graduated from New Bedford High School, class of 1977. Edwin was employed at Walmart for 27 years, and was the Electronics Department Manager for many of those years until his retirement. Mr. Garcia is survived by his six children Manuel Rosado and his wife Maritza Irizarry, Selina Martinez and her husband Jose Martinez, Yesenia Garcia and her husband Rafael Soto, Rafael Ortega and his wife Emily Carrasquillo, Christopher Garcia and Eddie Garcia all of New Bedford; And Step Children Vanessa Nunes Da Silva, Vinicius Nunes Da Silva; grandchildren Jose Rodriguez, Jennifer and Edwin Rosado, Jaeliana , Elias and Raul Ortega, Leilaniee and Zianee Soto, Nyelie Rivera, Izabella Garcia, Lily Garcia and Hazel Garcia; Three brothers Luis Garcia and his wife Gloria Garcia of New Bedford, Ricardo Garcia of New Jersey and Melvin Garcia of Puerto Rico and nieces Norma Garcia, Elainie Gonzalez and nephews William Garcia Jr., Isiah Garcia all from New Bedford. Edwin was the brother of the late Judy Torres and Detective William “Wally” Garcia. Private arrangements are in the care of the Rock Funeral Home in New Bedford.
