NEW BEDFORD -- Paul W. Turpel, 42, of Acushnet, died Monday, March 1, 1999, at St. Luke’s Hospital. He died of valvular heart disease. He was the husband of Sharon K. (Roush) Turpel and son of John W. and Shirley J. (Braley) Turpel of Apopka, Fla., formerly of New Bedford.
He was born in New Bedford and had been a lifelong resident of the area. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, New Bedford.
Mr. Turpel worked for the Chamberlain Manufacturing Corp. as an environmental specialist.
He was a 1976 graduate of New Bedford High School. He enjoyed fresh water fishing, water skiing and personal computing.
Survivors include his widow and parents; a sister, Rhonda J. Hunsinger of Melbourne, Fla.; a brother, Stephen D. Turpel of Acushnet; two stepsons, Dustin M. Roush of Cross Lanes, W.Va., and Terry W. Roush of New Haven, W.Va.; three nieces and two nephews; a special friend, John Souza of Marion; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
His service will be at 2 p.m. today from the Donaghy Funeral Home, 465 County St.
