About	DARTMOUTH – Mary Lucy (Brito) Pereira, age 72, of Dartmouth passed away on Friday, December 18, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family after a lengthy battle with cancer. She had been the beloved wife of Jaime Pereira for 48 years. Born in Sosa, Portugal, she was the daughter of Antonio and Marcia Brito. Lucy was a devoted mother and grandmother and had been an educator at New Bedford Public Schools for 33 years. Lucy is survived by her husband Jaime, son Jamison Pereira and his wife Laura Gordon and daughter Melanie Pereira Jekielek and her husband Robert Jekielek of Scarsdale, N.Y.; grandchildren, Maxwell Jekielek and Miles Jekielek; siblings, Betty Brito, Tony Brito, David Brito all of New Bedford. Her adoring family will be organizing a celebration of life when congregating is safe again in order to properly honor the life she lived and the legacy that she has left.
