About	Jarett Wayne Rose, 75, of New Bedford, died December 4, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospital six weeks after having open heart surgery. He was the husband of the late Patricia A. (Gonet) Rose. Born and raised in New Bedford, he was the son of the late Edward and Cecilia (Sylvia) Rose. Mr. Rose received his Bachelor of Arts in Earth Science and Master of Arts in Education degrees from Bridgewater State College. He also attended the University of Texas and M.I.T. He taught science in the New Bedford School system and was the Science Department Chairperson for 29 years and an educator for 32 years all in New Bedford. He supervised the science program throughout the city at Normandin, Roosevelt and Keith Middle schools as well as New Bedford High School. Survivors include his brother, Edward F. Rose Jr. and wife Claire of California; one nephew; three nieces; and many special friends. His generous and insightful nature inspired affection from the people who knew him well. Jarett was cremated and his cremated remains will be scattered at sea per his request. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
