NANTUCKET -- Regina Burgess Keightley, 77, of Nantucket, died July 4, 2007, at Nantucket Cottage Hospital.
A former resident of Mattapoisett, Regina taught for many years in the New Bedford school system and was active as a volunteer on Nantucket.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 9, at the First Congregational Church, 62 Centre St., with burial to follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Nantucket.
She was the beloved wife of the late William Keightley.
She is survived by brothers, Price Burgess of Albion, Mich., and Joseph R. Burgess Jr. of Ellicot City, Md., along with children and spouses, Gregory Creedon and Jamie Howarth of Nantucket, Martha Creedon and Leo Keightley of Waltham, and Peter and Debbie Creedon of Nantucket; also, her beloved grandchildren, Ben and Scott Keightley of New York, N.Y., and Peter Creedon Jr. of St. Peters, Mo.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests supporting the Hospice Care of Nantucket Foundation or the Marla Lamb Fund.
