About | Margaret A. (Kelley) Mello, 85, of Mattapoisett died June 21, 2008 at the Oaks Nursing Home peacefully. She was the wife of the late Arthur C. Mello. Born in Dudley, the daughter of the late George E. and Victoria D. (Grezyskowiak) Kelley, she lived most of her life in New Bedford before moving to Mattapoisett in 1985. She was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church in Mattapoisett. Mrs. Mello was formerly employed as a teacher's aide at New Bedford High School for several years until her retirement. She had also been a volunteer at St. Luke's Hospital for several years. An avid golfer, she was a member of the Reservation Golf Club. Survivors include 2 sons, Thomas A. Mello, and Carol Conroy, of Fall River, and Timothy A. Mello and his wife Sheila of New Bedford; a daughter, Susan M. Todd and her husband David of Mattapoisett; 2 sisters, Irene Law of New Bedford and Elizabeth Livesey of Virginia; 9 grandchildren, Kelley, David, Geraldine, Elizabeth, Andrew, Kathryn, Lynn, Jennifer and Jessica; 3 great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Caroline and Dominic; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was the sister of the late Edmund J. Kelley and George E. Kelley. Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home For Funerals, 50 County Rd. (Rt. 6) Mattapoisett Tuesday, June 24th at 9 AM. Funeral Mass at St. Anthony's Church at 10 AM. Burial will follow in Cushing Cemetery. Visiting hours are omitted. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Joslin Diabetes Center, One Joslin Place Boston, MA 02215. Margaret A.
