About	NEW BEDFORD — Maurice Galipeau, 93, passed away on Wednesday, August 07, 2019 at St. Luke’s Hospital, after a period of declining health. He was the husband of the late Gertrude (Boutin) Galipeau. The son of the late Francois G. and Amanda (Cournoyer) Galipeau. A lifelong resident of New Bedford. A communicant of St. Joseph-St. Therese Church. He was a French Teacher at the New Bedford School Dept., until his retirement. After his retirement he and his wife operated the Pine Framery on Bates Street, New Bedford. Mr. Galipeau was a Veteran of the U.S.A. Army during World War II. He was also a former member of St. Vincent the Paul Society. He survived by a son Donald R. Galipeau and his wife Jeanne of Maine, three daughters Diane Souza and her husband Arthur of Maine, Denise Goodwin of Texas, Pauline Galipeau of Cape Cod. Also survived by six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Robert and Marc Galipeau. Visiting hours omitted. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 10 AM in St. Joseph-St. Therese Church, Acushnet Avenue New Bedford.
