About Me I was never very outgoing in high school and barely graduated. I had a 1.3 average in high school and skipped so many days in my senior year that I am sure there must have been some talk of holding me back. There was only one person lower than me in my class as far as grade point average went. Obviously, as you can tell, I did not enjoy school. I did play football all four years of high school however, as well as junior high, which had a positive impact on my lack of discipline. I also did track in high school. My parents owned Eagles Pizza so I grew up in the pizza business and although I was shy, I loved to meet the people as they came in. At that time, New Albany was a small town and we knew just about everyone. This all changed when I gave my life to Jesus Christ in 1974. Shortly after that, I had a vision of me preaching and God said I am calling you to preach my Word. Me? I was the shy kid. Never the less, I went on to Oral Robert's University and through much hard work I graduated. I remember in my freshman year there I had to write a paper. When I got it back, there was a big red F on it with the following sentence. "Is it possible that you even went to high school?" That is how bad it was. I had to be tutored in English after that to make up for all the goof off time I wasted in high school. But I did graduate in 1977 and met Drenda my wife. We lived in Tulsa for about 8 years where we struggled financially and incurred a lot of debt. We had stayed in church all those years and volunteered in those churches but we never felt led to go into the ministry even though God had spoken to me about preaching his word when I was nineteen. I questioned God many times during those years as to why I was in the financial field instead of preaching but he reassured me that I was where he wanted me and he would let me know when it was time to step into a full time ministry position. I sold insurance and securities while in Tulsa but lived on commissions and after awhile we found ourselves in severe debt. We lived a life of financial survival, barely making it. We had ten maxed out and canceled credit cards, three finance company loans at 28%, two broken cars that barely started and judgments and liens of all sorts. The stress was so bad that I was having panic attacks and was on anti depressants. We owed our parents so much money that they stopped lending any to us. It was here that in desperation I cried out to God for answers as the lawsuits and pending liens were being threatened. As I cried out to him I clearly heard him as he told me that I was in this mess because I did not know how his kingdom operated and that I never spent time learning what he said about money. I really did not know what he meant by that, but he began to teach me. By applying what God was showing us, we got completely out of debt in 2.5 years, began paying cash for our cars and built our dream home on 55 acres which was and is also paid for. We went on to start companies which have produced millions of dollars in net income over the years allowing us to support ministry projects all over the world, all because God had taught us how his kingdom works and the laws and principles that govern it. Drenda and I were so passionate about what God had taught us that we wanted to tell anyone who would listen. We started our church in 1995 in New Albany to help people understand the Kingdom of God and live the life that God had designed us to live. That church now has 3,000 members as well as tens of thousands of members on line. We launched our TV outreach in 1985 with two daily shows that reach every time zone in the world with the good news of the kingdom. Since then we have seen so many people get out of debt, people healed of all kinds of things and lives transformed. We have seen tumors instantly disappear, people who were declared dead at the hospital healed, marriages restored and so many financial stories of success. Who would have ever imagined that the shy kid who almost flunked out of New Albany High School would have that kind of story? I know I never did. I have a lot of great memories from high school and it was great growing up in a small town like New Albany (was a small town). I had a lot of great times and memories in school. I few of my favorites was when we used to fly papers airplanes out of the old high school second story windows in the spring because as you remember there was no air conditioning in those days. The planes would then fly down and fly into the rooms below us on the first floor. I remember Spanish class. Many of us would pull the ink pen part of a Bic pen out which left the clear plastic tube which we would then use to fire spit wads during class. My Dodson's class was always a mess and we would always being pulling tricks on him like hanging his hall pass in a noose, or various other tricks - we were a mess. Of course we always had fun with the gas valves in chemistry class. No, I did not learn too much but enjoyed being in a small town, a small sc...(read more)
