About Me	After graduating from UC Davis in 1978, I worked in the resource conservation field for various agencies. I did some volunteer basketball coaching at Nevada Union and discovered my love for teaching and education. I went back to Davis and earned my secondary science teaching endorsement. My first teaching job was back at Nevada Union beginning in the fall of 1982. It was a little surreal working with many of my former high school science teachers as all of them were still working at NU in 1982. After an eight year tenure at Nevada Union, my wife Leslie and I made one of the best decisions of our lives and moved our young family (we had two young sons) to the Bitterroot Valley in West Central Montana. I continued my teaching career in Montana until my retirement in 2017. Our sons are grown and married. Our oldest son Zach and his family recently returned to MT from CA. They have two darling daughters and we are so excited to have them 16 hours closer! He owns and runs a logistics company. Our youngest son Derek lives with his wife in Spokane. He is an assistant U.S. Attorney in the eastern district of Washington. He and his wife recently gave birth to their second daughter...(read more)
