About Me	Jan is a Ph.D. and member of the Engeye Health Team, Ddegeya Village, Uganda. She joined with 25 years experience as the Director of the New York State Department of Health, Wadsworth Center’s Parasitology Laboratory where she trained International Fogarty and Postdoctoral Fellows, taught at the SUNY-Albany School of Public Health, and performed World Health Organization (WHO) and National Institutes of Health (NIH)-funded research. For 5 years she was also the Coordinator of a National Science Foundation (NSF)-funded summer Research Experience for Undergraduates Program. For a decade prior to that, she did research and taught Tropical Medicine and Parasitology in the Division of International Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College, NYC. This appointment included Program Project Training of staff in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. She has a passion for supporting students, especially women of diversity, at all stages of their careers through an international Philanthropic Educational Organization (P.E.O.) that sponsors scholarships, loans and awards for women, and The Gail and Garland Keithly Educational Scholarship Fund. Jan is an avid reader, loves nature, and serves on the Engeye Medical Advisory Committee. She and her husband Miklos (Muller) also appreciate, collect and exhibit works of Hungarian art.
