Hello Fellow Fliers:
Not sure a “mini-reunion” is the best way to refer to six Neptune High School graduating classes that averaged over 500 graduates per class, but consider this your official announcement for a 2015 multi-class reunion.
We’ll try this for 2015 and if successful we’ll repeat it every year. The reunion will be the first Saturday in August (and will remain so for consistency and simplicity). For 2015 that means the reunion will be Saturday, August 1.
The reunion will be held in the Dublin Room of Clancy’s on Rt. 71 in Neptune directly across the street from the original Neptune High School in Ocean Grove. Tipoff time is 7:00 p.m. which is two hours earlier than our previous mini-reunions. To get that earlier time I guaranteed Clancy’s that we’d put at least 100 people in the room (thus avoiding a minimum charge for the rental of the room. The event will go until the bar closes or the crowd dwindles to the point where the bartenders flash the lights and usher us into the main room.
Current and former teachers, staff and administration are welcome to join us. So feel free to extend an invitation to those folks as well.
As has been the case in the past, the reunion is free to attend with the exception of whatever food and drink each individual orders.
We do need to provide Clancy’s with an estimated attendance one week before the event. So please RSVP to your individual class coordinator(s) who are:

Our philosophy is that we’re our own best entertainment. So the more of us that get together, the better time we’ll all have.
You’re also free to put together any other events around the gathering at Clancy’s. Typically several of us from the Class of ’72 will gather on the Ocean Grove beach due east of the Great Auditorium the day before and the day of the mini-reunion weather permitting. I have a black flag with a red “N” that flies over the area where we’ve set up our beach chairs. Other classes are welcome to join us. Golf outings are always popular and some of us from ’72 have even gone parasailing as a group out of the Shark River Inlet. Small groups have been known to gather at Clancy’s and other local restaurants for dinner prior to the reunion.
I think we have a terrific opportunity here and one that can be sustained for many years to come by combining classes for mini-reunions.
