About	We lost one of our best on August 31, 2016. Paul Alan Stewart, Class of 1981, went to be with The Lord. When I think about my time at Nelson County High School (which is quite often), I always smile. I smile because I was fortunate to have Alan as one of my best friends. Alan was one of those wonderful human beings who made the world a much nicer place, just because he was in it. There are so many memories to cherish. Arriving at school, meeting my friends in the Commons; Alan was always there, ready with a smile and his own special way of greeting, usually a joke of some kind, related to my height, my looks, or how bad his back hurt from me running into him as he blocked for me in football practice the day before. Hopefully, we all have someone in our lives who make such a positive impact- someone who helps us live our lives with more zest and courage, and perhaps learn to laugh at ourselves along the way. You will be missed, #78, and you will always be fondly remembered. Until we meet again... Your friend, Gary
