After graduating from Nekoosa High School, went to Lackland for basic training, then to Lowery AFB in Denver CO, for tech school. then it was on to Washington DC for the first duty assignment. Then to Elmendorf AFB, AK. Beautiful place to live for two years. Then back to Andrews AFB, Camp Springs MD. 4 years there working at the 89 Presidental Supply. Got married to another Airman ( Gerald Timm). Then it was on to Charleston AFB, SC for 9 & 1/2 years there. Where our son was born. Then it was on to Grand Forks AFB, Grand Fork, ND for the last two years of my military career. Once I retired from there we moved back to Wisconsin to a small town way up north called Dunbar. We live 20 miles from the WI/MI broader. Those 20 years went by fast. But I would not have given them up for any thing. Alaska is a wonderful place to live. D.C and Charleston are both well known for the history and heat durning the summers.
