| About Me | Gold Star Mom - HM2Athan Allen, died 8/16/08 while in Alaska with his squadron (was their corpsman). I am from a small town in TX, married,have two beautiful grandchildren,work at a prison and cannot wait to retire. Grew up in Nederland,TX and graduated in 1976. Went to Lamar University and got a BAAS degree in 1991. Married Paul Allen (Silsbee '74) in 1979 and had 2 children. Athan was a corpsman in the US Navy until he died 8/16/08. Katherine is now back in Texas with her son, Tristan. I have two grandchildren: Cailey Renee Allen (12/2/05) is Athan's daughter and Tristan Radley Iven (2/6/07) is Katie's son.
