About	Joan McGovern Tendler, born October 8, 1953, of West Allis, WI, passed away on July 17, 2024. Joan was preceded in death by her parents Kenneth (Jack) and Esther McGovern, her sister Linda O’Neill, and brother Kenneth McGovern, Jr. She is survived by her loving husband of 41 years Matt, her children Julia Kreger (Joshua), Nicholas, and Matthew. And her loving grandsons Rockland and Wyatt. Also survived by brother Michael, sister Maureen (Jim), brother-in-law Terry O’Neill, sister-in-law Cindy Tendler (Tony), and nephews and nieces Brad McGovern (Kyleen), Spencer Matthews, Kyle O’Neill, Carolynn Friesch, Ryan O’Neill (Anna), Kelly McGovern (Kyle). Joan earned her B.A. degree at UW-Madison. She and husband Matt met at the UW-Milwaukee School of Architecture where she earned her master’s degree in 1983. Joan had a strong Christian faith and spent her life helping and enriching others. Her passions included writing and performing Irish music, including at Irish Fest, and sharing amazing nutrition and health information in person and online. Joan was our fountain of youth, filling our lives with the joy of music and the wonder of song. She leaves behind a wealth of wonderful friends from grade school, high school, college and beyond, and loving family members, who will miss her greatly!
