About Me College and Trade School being unaffordable, I accepted an offer to transfer to Marlborough Vocational High School to complete High School and learn a trade. Worked various Body shops after graduation. Being 1 A draft status I enlisted in the Naval Reserves in Worcester in 1969. Army sent me my greetings only days after I enlisted in the Navy. First year drills then 2 years active duty, then 2 more years drills. Attended "A" school at Great Lakes. Upon completion got orders for the USS Glover AGDE-1, same ship that Gov Rick Scott was on in Newport, R.I. We tested sonar gear for submarine warfare. Lots of testing and games with subs off the east coast. Then a trip to the Med end of 1st year of active duty. Upon return from the Med I traded in my fiance' for a more reliable one that she introduced me to a year earlier. Married her and been married for almost 50 years! Best move I ever made. Ran our own Body shop for 7 years and did really well until the early 80's and liquidated during the timber recession Primarily due to exorbitant interest rates. Accepted a job offer with Alaska Sales and Service as a line tech, Heavy structural damage repair. After an oil price crash and layoff, accepted an offer with Northern Adjusters.
