STOW - Jason Todd Goldfarb of 22 Lakewood Road died yesterday in Clinton Hospital after he was struck in the head by the framework of a soccer goalpost at Nashoba Regional High School in Bolton.

He would have been 17 today.

The goal toppled as he was attempting to place a memorial on top of it for two schoolmates killed the day before in an automobile accident.

He leaves his parents, Stephen M. and Barbara J. (Levine) Goldfarb; a sister, Dana J. Goldfarb of Stow; his paternal grandparents, Jacob and Lillian Goldfarb of Albany, N.Y., and his maternal grandmother, Millie Levine of Saratoga Springs, N.Y.

He was born in Boston, and lived in Stow 11 years.

He was a junior at Nashoba Regional High School, an honor student, a member of the National Honor Society, captain of the track team, sports editor of the school newspaper, and was a correspondent on cross country sports, for the Clinton Daily Item, Middlesex News, and The Beacon of Acton.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today in Congregation Beth Elohim, 10 Hennessey Drive, Acton, with Rabbi Lewis Mintz officiating.

A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday in Jewish Community Center Cemetery, Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
