Bonné Blythe Berry Jones passed away on May 24, 2023 in San Luis Obispo, California. She died of heart failure following surgery to repair heart valves.
Bonné graduated from Sacramento City College and began a career with the California Department of Justice. She served as a program manager for DOJ and retired in 2003.
Bonné was a kind, selfless, loving mother, grandmother and friend. She is survived by her husband John, son Christopher, three step daughters and 22 grand and great-grandchildren, all of whom love and adore her. Bonné loved to laugh and had a great sense of humor. She loved life, friends, sunshine, music, gardening, golf, tennis, family time, cooking, puzzles, games with kids, reading good books and the Maumee River. She was very hard working, exceptionally organized, completely honest and fiercely loyal to her family. Bonné was loved and admired in her community. Upon her passing neighborhood children lined the sidewalk of her home with bouquets. Businesses closed their doors briefly because of employee emotions.
Whenever Bonné spoke of "home" it meant Napoleon. Although most of her life was lived in California she remembered Napoleon as the best of her life. She felt especially blessed to have been adopted by the Class of '66! Her passing has left deep sorrow and an unfillable void. Her memory brings happiness to those who knew her.
