Events	Service was at the National Cemetery in Chattanooga, Tennessee as he was a Vietnam veteran. Mike Holden had just been to Washington, DC a month prior to his death along with his close friend who was a Cobra pilot and had requested that Mike accompany him to accept the Congressional Medal of Honor for his bravery of rescuing four soldiers out of a war zone in Vietnam.

Mike Holden earned the rank of Staff Sargeant in the U.S. Army in Vietnam at the young age of 22 years old. He started writing a book of his experience and life in Vietnam as a soldier. He did not get to put the finishing touches on his book at the time of his death. His son completed his book two years after his death and the book was published in October, 2025. Mike's book can be purchased on Amazon under the title "Told To Go" by J. M. "Mike" Holden (9798298-903981).
