Died of heart failure from complications caused by childhood rumatic fever.
Tom graduated from MSU in 1966. Attended WSU Law School graduating in 1972. Married, had one son, Andrew with wife Charlene and spent his life as an Administrative Law Judge for the State of Michigan Unemployment
Commission until he retired in 1996. He divorced his first wife in 1986 and married another wife, Judy in 1987.
