Muscatine alum featured in Broadway musical premiere

Steven Meerdink, a 1978 graduate of Muscatine High School, is starring in the regional premiere of the hit Broadway musical, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. The musical comedy debuts on Friday, June 10, in downtown Minneapolis, MN.

Minneapolis Musical Theatre is presenting the regional premiere of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels from June 10 - June 26, 2011 at the Illusion Theater, Minneapolis.

Steven Meerdink plays the role of Lawrence Jameson, a clever con man operating in the French Riviera who attempts to swindle money from heiresses and tourists through a comic series of schemes and double crosses.

In addition to his on-stage role, Meerdink is Artistic Director and co-founder of Minneapolis Musical Theatre. He has held the position of Theatre Director at Totino-Grace High School in Fridley, MN, since 1989, and served as the Artistic Director for the Paul Bunyan Playhouse in Bemidji, MN, for six summers (1995-2000).
