| About Me | I am retired & have been an Ins. agt. for over 40 yrs. owned a full ins lines ins. agency & managed 45 rental dwellings for Bowen Enterprises for over 40 yrs. I was originally planning to go to med school, do a residence in Psychiatry & practice however I went to three universities, Ole Miss, University of So Miss, Duke University Correspondence, and two colleges Miss College, & Millsaps College. I did graduate work at USM in Clinical Psychology & Correspondence at Duke in Same inc studies Clinical Psychology incl. ESP (extra sensory perception) at Duke but I never went to med school. I like to garden & raise veggs.,incl. tomatoes, okra,onions,beans, lettuce,radishes,carrotts, I have played music as an aviocation & fun- over the yrs. & mainly DixieLand Jazz & Popular. Once owned a music studio on N. State St in Jackson, Miss, I can play several musical instmts.incl Tenor Banjo, Guitar, Piano- Keyboard, Tenor Sax. Clarinet, String Bass- Member of Jazz societies incl Gulf Coast Jazz Soc., NBSJsoc, Calif. Jazz Soc., & Natl'l. musicians, assocn, I have played with famous musical groups' & bands incl. Julie London, Bobby Troupe, Peanuts Hucko,Dave McKenna, Al Hurt's remaining band, Murphey Campo Jazz Band, various New Orleans Bands , Howard Jones Band in assoc. w/NBSJC, occassionally play golf- St. Andrews, Annandale, Pebble Creek, like to travel to secenic places not too far awa. I was 1/2 owner w/my brother Jim Bowen in a Beach Home at Ocean Springs, Ms., i've previously owned five boats, three runabout, a 32' Owens Cruisers, & a very large House Boat. I once was 1/4 owner in a Mooney Executive aircraft. I might add about boats, that a boat by definition is a hole in the water one pours money into. I like fishing, some deep sea, photography, bird watching & feeding. Also build bird houses in my shop & I'm an animal rights activist & protect cats, dogs, horses, Dolphins, Whales, from abuses-mainly thru education & writing letters to heads of State in U.S.A. & around the globe. I love all animals which are Gods creatues, I give clothes, food & donate time to soup kitchens incl. GateWay, Salvation Army, Stewpot. While in the U.S. Marine Corps 10 yrs in Reserves, being a proud participator in the U.S. Marines Toys for Tots which was started by the Corps & I have over the yrs Repaired & built many toys for tots at christmas time & also help with & give to underprivaledged children. Though I have some Arthritis, in my knees, & over my body however I still can walk & I repair some old furniture, work on old original clocks- NO COPIES" i.e. German Gustav Becker, French mantel, English w/westminister chimes, American OG's & Grandfather& tune & can re-build some piano's, incl. Grand, up-right & Spinnett. I'm an avid reader & like reading Medical & Psychological Journals & research on; Cancer advances & cures, specifically on. lukemia, lymphoma, lung, colon, brain & related cancers. Gene Splicing & the Genome advances in Embryonic Stem Cells. Exo-Biology, incl. latest on distant planets, Galaxies, other Solar systems, black-holes, dark holes, nutrinoes, dark matter. Meta Physics of possible origins of the Universe as to the dimentional, string, & time theories of a theoritical & hypothethical possible beginning & creation of something from nothing. My theory is that their possibly does exist a Parallel Universe & maybe this Universe dies, is re-born & its over & over for millineums. I also participate in Geneological searches on mine & others' families former lives & past & deceased relatives. My immediate family has been in jackson, miss for over 200 yrs & long before Jackson was a town. My great, great grandfather, William Preston Graland built the oldest dwelling in Jackson, Miss, "The Cedars" @ 4145 Old Canton Rd in Jackson & is still standing today. The Yankees burned Jackson to the ground in 1865 during the Civil War but didn't get this dwelling, The Cedars. My great grandmother Virginia Marie Garland was William Garlands daughter & married my great grandfather Robert James Bowen & she later owned thousands of acres of land in Jackson, Ms when William Garland died & she sold much of it for under $1.00 per acre in 1890's. Virginia M. Garland, Bowen, husband Rob. james Bowen was a naval officer, grad of the Naval academy in 1853, had his own Yankee gunboat & when the civil war broke out in 1861 he resigned his commission, came south & joined the Confederacy, was again commissioned as an officer in the Confederate army as a capt. & fough for the Confederacy. I have lot of history on my families incl hundreds of pictures of Jackson, Ms over 175 yrs ago incl down town & in the county. if anyone would like a copies let me know. I too like reading World, U.S. & Miss History on past & current wars & events & strategies to keep us out of all wars in the future & tactics to make us all get along so we can survive in this crazy, "Brave New World" we are all living in today.I am a born again christian, I do believe in God & that his son Jesus is the Messiah. I AM A CHRISTIAN, A SOUTHERN BAPTIST, was a Presbyterian for 25 yrs., was (sprinkled in Presbyterian, & immerced under water in Baptist church) by Dr. Sam Patterson in 1952 & Dr Joe Tuten at Calvary B.Church 1975, I Joined the First Baptist Church of Jackson in 1995 & changed my letter & have been active since that time. My mother, Rowena King, Bowen, who died in 1959 taught sunday school at various churches in Jackson over 50 yrs ago to incl. First Baptist Church, 1st Presbyterian, Calvary & Crestwood Baptist churches. I might like to meet a single woman, whether never married, divorced or just single who has a formal education & is she has her own money that will be even better.
