About Me | Man looks into the Abyss, and there's nothin' staring back at him. At that moment, man finds his character, and that's what keeps him out of the Abyss. I sadly left Oswego after my County job ended because I didn't know what was instore for next season. I returned to my Fathers house in Sidney but only stayed there for a month or 2. I then did something I thought I'd never do.... moved into Queens with Dome!! It took a while BUT I finally landed a job (Like 3 or 4 months worth of looking!) as a cabinetmaker for Stylecraft in Greatneck LI. I worked there for like 6 months but was replaced & then I found a BETTER job in Greatneck at a high end hardware store (Kolson's ?) It is a small family run operation and I worked there for over 3 years, I started in Sales but was promoted to service/instalation. I drove all over the Island and you can thank me for the many traffic jams that were caused from 1993-1999! I was released from Kolsons on a technicality, [Christmas was on thursday, I didnt call on friday - they accepted that as my resignatioin...ASSHOLES!] I then began working for a great boss in Syossett; Diglio Electric. Yep; I was in training to be an Electrician! He really treated me like shit but tought me alot. I never knew what work was untill I started working for him. Treated me pretty bad but you knew where you stood with him & I learned alot. He kinda got out of residential wiring and more into commercial, I wasnt really thrilled with WrongIsland at all anyway so I moved in with a friend in PA; then I was in North Carolina for 5 months but really hated it so...Back to Sidney! I had a great job in Binghamton as the assitant Maintenance Superintendant for a book manufacturer. I was hired and 2 weeks later my boss was fired. I worked with the new boss for 2 years; Then about a month after Sept 11th; They reduced the workforce. As I was one of the most recent hires -out I went! I really miss that job. I worked for a landlord for 3 weeks when I got a call from a contractor at IBM. I accepted and worked for over a year as a Carpenter. Great job, some OT too. Then IBM was sold and the new owner brought in his own crew. Now I was back on Unemployment & kinda looking but not too hard when I applied for work at Binghamton University. I started seasonally remodeling dorms. I was asked back for another season then I got in working 3rd shift on Weekends FULL TIME!! Not a real gravy job BUT it paid the bills, along with my Ebay & the Auctions I got by. As of 5 months ago I was promoted to Electrician on the new Construction Entity! Its a 4 day week [10 hour days] but it seems good for now. Alot of swordplay [backstabbing] as I came from a different trade. My biggest grievance against me is that guys with 20 years experence are making way less money than me. Its not fair but Ive been there for 4+ years soo.... I'm kinda busy with life now.I'm not married, nor have I any kids [that I know of!] Its sad about the chapter; I saw the house is still boarded up. I heard they wanted to re-oganize a new TKE at Oswego fr...(read more) |
