About	Pat Leathers Wallace posted - It is with great sadness that I am posting that my brother, Jerre Leathers passed. He was sick for quite a while and passed in his sleep. I’m sure Mom was waiting for him with her big smile (as he always was her favorite-family joke). My big brother stepped into my dad’s shoes when he passed and helped raise me-not always teaching me things Mom wanted me to know. I always looked to him for advice,and if I didn’t take it there was hell to pay. He made me a NASCAR, Michigan University, Bears, Black Hawks and White Sox fan. We went to many races/games together and that’s where we really bonded. I know that even after the seasons all these teams had this year he was still a devoted fan. Remember him when you watch the games. He was a gruff, grumpy, old man in his final years, but deep down he loved each of us. His patience while taking care of Mom near her end was something I’ve never seen, and I could not have made it through those times without him. I’m going to miss him terribly. Please if you want to remember him send a gift to the Shriners Hospital for children. Jerre was a Shriner and Mason and this charity was closest to his heart. We will not be holding any services as this was his very strong wish.
