Carlos Castro Carlos was born in Mexicali, Mexico and came to California in 1969 at the age of seven. As a young man he attended Visalia schools and graduated from Mt. Whitney High School in 1981. Shortly after graduation he enlisted in the United States Marines. After Serving in the Marines he attended Loma Linda University in Riverside, CA. In 1988 his first son Carlos Castro Jr was born. His daughter Elisha Katina Castro was born in 1990. Carlos joined the Department of Corrections achieving the rank of Correctional Sergeant before his retirement in 2009. Carlos met the love of his life Lorie Norman in the fall of 1996. Lorie and Carlos (my green eyes) as she so affectionately called him, were married February 14, 1998. On January 4, 2000 his second son Isaiah Francisco Scott Castro was born. Upon his marriage to Lorie he became a step father to Audra-Vargas-Marple and Rudy Vargas. Carlos had many interest, he loved playing softball at Plaza Park where you could find him every weekend. He loved weight lifting and competing in the Police & Fire games in the bench press and pull-up division winning several metals. He started coaching Isaiah in Pee Wee Football as a defensive coach in 2007. Most recently going to the Championship game in 2012. One of his favorite pastimes was eating pepperoni pizza. Carlos was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He was a great friend to many and would go out of his way to help in any way he could. Carlos will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents Francisco and Angelina Castro, brother Sergio Castro and niece Ana Castro. Carlos is survived by his loving Wife of 15 years Lorie Castro, sons Carlos Castro Jr., Isaiah Francisco Scott Castro, Rudy Vargas & God Son Steven Castro, all of Visalia. Daughters Elisha Katina Castro, Audra-Vargas-Marple of Visalia. Brothers & Sisters Humberto & Graciela Castro, Rudy & Edilia Castro, Frank Castro, Efren & Sherri Castro all of Visalia, Teresa Lizarraga of El Centro and Graciela & David Lemos of Dubai many nieces and nephews along with five grandchildren. Carlos is peacefully at rest and will be missed by all who knew him.
