About Me	After graduating high school, I went on to complete my Bachelor's degree. I worked full time as a nursing assistant in a variety of roles from nursing homes and home health to a group home for men with schizophrenia. During undergrad, I also became a Certified Peer Educator, choir member and ran cross country for a time. In late May 2007, I left Maine for Texas. I did weekend intensive courses through grad school. Unfortunately, other responsibilities in life pulled me away from completing my Master's degree and the school has since been closed. However, this didn't stop me from working for over a year in a residential treatment center for young women working to overcome addiction and mental health challenges on their way to independent living. After stepping away from the treatment center, I spent a couple years working as a nanny. Then I went on to do direct care work at a State Supported Living Center for persons with intellectual disabilities.
