About Me	I am now 66, finished my BA in Psychology at Ashford University March, 2011, divorced, 4 children, 4 grandchildren, 2 stepgrands, 4 step great grands, and one step great great granddaughter. I raised my children, had foster children, 3 of whom were in the mental health classification, for about 11 years, then became an interpreter for the deaf. I got into case management for about 8 or so years. I started two new programs, the first in the state of Texas, and probably the nation. The first was for people who were deaf or hearing impaired who had AIDS or were HIV+. The second was for anyone with a disability who was sexually assaulted (the agency also served those who had a domestic violence issue, so I covered that issue also). I received an award from TAASA (Texas Association Against Sexual Assault) for the Innovatijve Program of the Year in 1994. Since then I have organized the Gulf Coast Mental Health Consumers, brought them from 5 members up to over 75, with help, of course. We started with one meeting a month and went to two meetings a week, so that they would have an opportunity to get together and have something to do with our time in the Brazoria and Galveston Counties. I volunteered at my church, Unity of the Bay Area. I have been enrolled in Ashford University took a full-time load to finishi my BA degree for a little more than the last two years. I am done! Yeah!
