I met Mike and his sister Kathy in first grade. Before 4th I moved to another school but then got reacquainted in middle school. Mike was always fun and had a great sense of humor even as a child. Their parents were wonderful and I joined them on a family outing to Hoods Canal when their older brother returned from basic training in the Navy I think.

I always respected Mike's involvement in matters that impacted lives especially during Viet Nam. We lost touch after high school but I will always remember him.
