About David B. Castle

MT. GILEAD: David B. Castle, age 54, of Mt. Gilead died Friday evening July 11, 2014 at home surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born in Mt. Gilead on July 7, 1960 to Elmer "Sonny" and Sally D. ( Hayes ) Castle.

David was a 1979 graduate of Mt. Gilead High School, attended The Ohio State University, and graduated in 1985 from DeVry Institute of Technology as an Electronics Technician. He worked at HPM as an electrician for 10 years and then at NAPA as a counter man in their stores in Mt. Gilead, Marengo and Mansfield. David was a" true sports fan". He loved playing competitive softball and was on many championship teams. His favorite basketball team was the University of Kentucky Wildcats. He enjoyed fishing and his best memories were of his trips made to Canada in search of the "big one". David introduced his brother, Elmer Dean, to the game of golf and they shared many memorable rounds together.

David is survived by his mother, Sally D. ( Hayes ) Castle; brother, Elmer Dean Castle; and special niece and nephew, Areonna M. Kelly and Domenik L. Kelly.

David was preceded in death by his father Elmer "Sonny" Castle; paternal grandparents, Noah and Katie C. Castle and maternal grandparents Gus Hayes, Sr. and Jessie Virginia ( Daniels ) Hayes

Friends may call on Monday July 14, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the Edison Enterprise Baptist Church (3035 St. Rt. 95 west) where David's funeral service will be held on Tuesday morning at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Ed Colegrove of the church will officiate over all of the services. A visitation and funeral service will be held in Kentucky and David will be buried beside his father in the Highland Memorial Park in Staffordsville, KY.
