About Me | I am semi retired. Considering returning to work as this being retired is not what people say. I only retired as I had an accident and was on disability. I am feeling much better but still have Issues with memory. We, my husband and I, live on a rural price of land in Sullivan county NY. Currently we have chickens and ducks and a garden. This summer I purchased my dream truck a Toyota Tacoma. It has a standard transmission which I have found to help my knees. Lily and I have used it for seating at outdoor services at church. Of course we are dealing with the pandemic! It must have been Gods will that this winter my oldest daughter Renee requested a visit. We planned a birthday party for her and my son Randy. We have young grandchildren so the party turned into a mass everybody’s birthday party. Good thing! It was February 15,2020!! We rang the church bell, tapped maple trees, hugged and took family picture. If you look at my pictures you will notice I started in the present and went Backwards. This was not intentional. But turns out it is fairly therapeutic. I stepped back slowly through this odd year. None of the headlines just my family dealing with Covid19 and massive changes in our lives. Weeks of not hugging my kids and grands. Our gentle scary first moves toward hugs. I did US Census. Been tested twice. Still very scared but gently and slowly moving forward. The thing of letting people in is all the people they have let in to their lives. Lily and I went to visit my mom in VT last week. We had to register with the Vermont health department. They write me often. Visited mom from outside, reminiscent of visiting mom after a baby at Putman Hospital. So the leaves are changing again! Maybe we will get snow. I’ve been trying to hold onto these things of the past. But looking back over the past year I’m please with how we are moving forward and I think I did a great job raising a great family. Hope to see all of you at our 50th reunion next year...not 20...(read more) |
