Do you remember:
• His pinning that first homecoming corsage?
• Her saying yes to your invitation to the prom?
• Mr. Sid Elliott just barely missing you as you reentered the building after a lunch off school grounds?
• The Hurricane room or the Itakha room where you spent hours working to meet deadlines?
• The gym where you cheered at pep rallies for the football and basketball teams and where you attended southern assemblies?
• The band room, the choir room, or one of those tiny rooms nearby where you took piano lessons?
• The library where you spent hours doing research for term papers?
• The auditorium where you practiced the plays, “Charlie Brown” and “The Wizard of Oz” or participated in the Christmas nativity?
• The dressing rooms where girls changed into those hideous orange gym suits?
Meet us on Saturday morning, April 29, 2023, in Isenberg-Siler Gymnasium where on June 4, 1973, you graduated from high school. East High students will be our guides for a tour of Morristown-Hamblen High School East. We will begin the tour in front of the gym at 10:00 A.M. and end it in the cafeteria with a catered boxed lunch by Honey Baked Ham. Here we will reflect, remember, and reminisce. We will be finished by 1:00 P.M. to give everyone time to prepare for our evening festivities with the West High Class of 1973.
We hope that this will be an enjoyable event for everyone. So many changes have taken place over the past fifty years. A $5 donation (payable at the door) is asked for those attending. We need to know how many to prepare for and your choice of a Honey Baked Ham or Turkey sandwich. The cost for the reunion will be $50 per individual or $100 per couple. East students should send money to Cindy Shoun, 3105 Hampton Circle, Morristown, TN 37814. West students send money to Susan Paulette Stepp-Worley, 848 Summit Ridge Drive, Morristown, TN 37814. The deadline to send money is April 15, 2023.
