Becky Christie
Class of 1972
Becky Christie is the founder of the Annual Freeze Your Tush Off for charity Ocean dip held on New Year's Day in Salem, Ma. Becky has been swimming in the ocean every New Year's Day since 2000 in memory of a dear friend lost to illness in 1999. Last year was the first fund-raising event and $2500 was raised for the Salem Food Pantry. There were 35 swimmers and nearly 100 spectators. The water temperature averages about 43 degrees and the weather temp can range from 0 to 70 degrees. The event takes place regardless of weather conditions.
