Don Seroka

Navy, 10 Years
A knee injury ended a 10 year career where I served as an Operations Specialist 1st class. I was in the process of being promoted to E-7 when my knee injury occurred. During my time I worked as a combat air controller, recruiter and op-center intel supervisor for an air wing. I visited 57 countries on 5 continents and sailed through the Panama and Suez canals. I saw action in Lebanon, the Persian Gulf, Grenada and Libya.
After my service I had a brief career as Director of Veterans Affairs for Fayette County.

John P. Stepp

• Aircraft maintenance superintendent – Senior enlisted manager directing controlling, and supervising 450 military personnel supporting 50 B-52 and KC-135 aircraft. Managed five major branches consisting of 28 shops in the field of aircraft systems, metals fabrication, AGE, propulsion, and aircraft inspection. Ensured compliance with all OSHA and safety standards and practices as well as technical data requirements. Developed and implemented innovative procedures to increase quality maintenance production. Provide technical assistance and quality assurance to all aircraft structures and systems. Made crucial decisions on the safety of aircraft before flight and had the authority to downgrade grounding decisions based on vast technical knowledge and extensive experience.
• Fabrication branch superintendent - responsible for the technical supervision and maintenance production of over 150 technicians. Managed major structural modifications and decided the course of action for repair and manufacturing operations. Inspected repairs of aircraft plastics, sheet metal, fiberglass, composite and extruded structural components. Managed, directed, and supervised the operations of the structural repair, nondestructive inspection, corrosion control, machine, metals processing, fabric repair, hydraulics, environmental and electric shops.
• Headquarters fabrication quality assurance manager – provided major program management and quality assurance expertise to the F-5 and F-15E foreign military sales programs. Reviewed applicable contracts and related documents to determine the scope and depth of the required quality assurance effort. Insured contractor specifications compliance verification with quality requirements in fabrication, support equipment, and aircraft survival training center activities. Performed hardware and procedural inspections to ensure deficiency prevention, conformance with industrial procedures and accuracy of all documentation.
• Structural repair technical instructor- instructed airframe repair specialist course.
