Patti grew up in Edinburg. She loved horses growing up and enjoyed spending time with them and her family. Patti was diagnosed with leukemia in 7th grade. She went through many years of extensive treatment and was in and out of the hospital throughout her high school career. Patti succumbed to her illness at the age of 21.
