Class of 1970
Navy, 10 Years
Served aboard the Carrier USS Midway, which is now a museum in San Diego, from 1971 to 1975, recruiting duty in Fort Wayne from 1975 to 1979 and the USS Sample, homeported in Hawaii, from 1979-1980.
I was in Viet Nam for the signing of the Peace Treaty in 1973 and the evacuation of South Viet Nam in 1975. Operation Frequent Wind. In 2010 my wife and I attended the 35th reunion of the evacuation of South Viet Nam aboard the Midway. Very emotional experience getting to meet some of the people we rescued in 1975.
My step-son is now in Afghhanistan serving as a Marine. I coulod not be more proud of him.

I have beein in the Navy since 2003 and plan on retiring. I was stationed in Keflavik, Iceland, where I met my husband Jake. We got married and had our son, Dylan 24 July 2005. We, then, went to Lemoore, CA where I was in VFA-41 squadron, where I deployed with the USS Nimitz. I had my daughter Guinevere (Gwen) there on 1 August 2007. Now, I am in San Diego, CA stationed at Training Support Center. I was deployed to Afghanistan on an Individual Augmentation in August of 2008. I was there for 8 months and saw some pretty harsh things. I just recently had another beautiful daughter on 21 January 2011, Ella Rose!! I have an amazing husband and 3 awesome kids.

Our Mississinewa High School military alumni are some of the most outstanding people we know and this page recognizes them and everything they have done! Not everyone gets to come home for the holidays and we want our Mississinewa High School Military to know that they are loved and appreciated. All of us in Gas City are proud of our military alumni and want to thank them for risking their lives to protect our country!
