Barbara Young (nee Larson), aged 80, died peacefully in the San Francisco Bay Area following a stroke 9 months prior. She spent those last months in the loving care of her daughter and son-in-law, with visits from her beloved grandchildren.
While born in Portland, Oregon, Barbara grew up and lived the majority of her life in Southern California. Her formative years were spent in Manhattan Beach, the next 25 years were spent raising a family in Long Beach and the last 35 years in Palm Desert and Rancho Mirage. A recent move to Phoenix with her long time partner Bob Lowe, had her living there for a year.
Barbara is survived by her daughter Julie (Steve) Lekki and her three grandsons, Spencer (Margaret) Lekki, Colin Lekki and Owen Lekki.
Barbara will be remembered for her generous spirit and infectious smile.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Oasis Country Club in Palm Desert on Sunday, February 18th at Noon.
