Linda was very valiant and courageous lady. She had serious medical issues for many years. In her late 40s, she lost total kidney function. She was on dialysis for a couple of years before getting a donor kidney. The donor kidney finally wore out and she went back on home dialysis a year or two ago. She was a trooper in the way she handled the health issues. She never quit doing what she wanted and with what she was good at. She was a former Mira Costa Class of 1960 classmate.
Linda had a BA degree and two Master Degrees. She got her 2nd Masters about 5 or 6 years ago, in her middle 70s.
She worked for a number of years as a Family and Child counselor. At the same time, she did a lot of writing and was a noted poet. She won numerous honors for her writing and poetry.
This last year has been hard on her medically, but until the very end she was a fighter.
She was loved by many... particularly in her writing / poetry community.
She is survived by her two sons, Brian and Kevin, 5 grand kids and 3 grands and two brothers.
