About Craig William Cote of Amherst passed away on Friday, August 27, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. Craig was born in Springfield, MA, the son of Carol (Schonbock) and the late William Cote. He grew up in Wilbraham, MA and graduated from Minnechaug High School. He received his Bachelor and Master’s Degrees in Business Administration from American International College, graduating with honors. In his early career, Craig worked at his father’s printing company, where he learned valuable lessons in business and life skills. He would go on to work at his Alma Mater as Chief Marketing Officer and Vice President of Institutional Marketing. Among his many interests, Craig loved photography and was a talented photographer. One of the traits people loved most about him was his willingness to help others and always with his contagious smile. His favorite quote was by French philosopher Albert Camus: “Don’t walk behind me: I may not lead. / Don’t walk in front of me: I may not follow. / Just walk beside me and be my friend.” This life philosophy is exemplified by the many friends Craig made throughout his life. Craig is survived by his wife, Nancy Cote; his sons, William and Cameron Cote; mother of his children, Laurie Cote; his brother, Carl, and his wife, Bonnie; his sister, Chris Forni, and her husband, Rick; Elizabeth (Auntie Bette) Gaudreau; stepson, Dr. Mark Tromblay and his wife, Becky; his stepdaughter, Jana Young, and granddaughters, Emma, Sophie, Olivia, and Alice; and sister-in-laws Judy Michalak and Marianne Herzog, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Family and friends are invited to gather at Wildwood Cemetery, 70 Strong St., Amherst at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 23.
