About	1943-2013. David passed away at age 70 in El Paso, Tx. . David was born in San Diego and raised in the beautiful Verde Valley of Arizona. He was a long time resident of Phoenix, AZ and a graduate of Arizona State University and the University of Arizona College of Law. He served in the U. S. Army in Vietnam prior to commencing his law career. He practiced law for more than thirty-five years during which he was a member of the Federal Public Defender's Office as well as a Superior Court Judge. He was hard working, diligent, and extremely honest in all that he did. He found much enjoyment in helping others in time of need whether it be family members, a Phoenix Youth or a child in a foreign country. David was a dutiful and thoughtful nephew, a caring husband and a loving father. He is survived by his daughters Alison Grootveld and Jennifer Evers, his wife Grace and an extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends. He was a stoic warrior in the worst of times and a joy-filled boy in the best of times. David will be deeply missed and remembered with love.

I graduated from MUHS in the same year as David. We attended ASU the following fall semester together and resided in the same dorm called East Hall. He was a good friend and dedicated student. After our first year, however, we went in somewhat different directions and lost touch along the way. He was a great example of achieving the goals that he set in his life.
