Tommy Motto

Class of 1966

I think Tommy graduated in 1966 from MHS. After graduation, Tom entered the US Army and after basic training and AIT, Tom was sent to Vietnam. Unfortunately, he was killed there. Like so many other men and women who were killed in Vietnam, he never had the opportunity to try to make something special out of his shortened life. He never was an accomplished businessman, politician, doctor, lawyer, truck driver, laborer, teacher or any other defined life choice. I do know he was one of the greatest from my generation who fought in Vietnam. So, he is my choice for a special Distinguished Alumni. I know there are a few more men from Mineola who served in Vietnam and were killed there. They also never had the opportunity to see what kind of lives they might have chosen to pursue. I did know Tom, Thank you for the opportunity to add someone special to your list of alumni.........Bill Tucker Class of 67 and a two tour Vietnam veteran.
