About Carl Mervyn, 76, of Midwest City passed away, 2-22-2004. He was born July 20, 1927 in Pocasset, OK to V.K., Sr. & Leva (Baltzelle) Curtis. He was a member and deacon of Midwest City 1st Baptist Church since 1951. Mr Curtis served as past president of the Kiwanis Club of Midwest City, was a member of C.C.O.S.A. and retired as Principal at Midwest City High School. He was also Principal at Carl Albert Jr. High and coached football & basketball at Kerr Jr. High. Mr. Curtis is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sue of the home; son, Charles Curtis & wife Ginny of Stroud; daughters, Karla Stroup & husband Art of Norman & Tammye Cameron & husband Don of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; 12 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 1 brother, V.K. Curtis, Jr. & wife Doris of Broken Arrow, OK; aunt, Anna Lee Baltzelle of Mt. Home, Idaho, and numerous nieces, nephews & other family members. Mr. Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and grandson, Zachary Wayne Curtis. Services will be 2:00 pm, Thurs. 2-26-2004 at Midwest City First Baptist Church with interment at Arlington Memory Gardens.
