About Bill Earl Mace was born on November 10, 1950 in Seminole, Oklahoma to J.R. and Carmen Mace. Bill passed away November 30, 2015 in Okarche OK. He was baptized in the First Bapist Church. His parents were both educators. As a child he lived in Wolf, Bowlegs, Centerview and Midwest City. Later in high school he played football for the Midwest City Bombers. While attending OSU for Agricultural Economics he met his beloved wife of 40 years, Diane (Schieber) Mace. After college he worked in the oilfield and became an entrepreneur by establishing his business Black Gold Construction. He later worked for the Department of Environmental Quality along with farming part-time. He quit the city job and extended his farming operation fulltime. Bill was one of God’s stewards of the land. He believed in caring for the Earth and tried to leave it better than he found it. He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors at the family’s cabin in Eufaula, fishing, and vacationing with his family. He is survived by his wife Diane Mace, brother Don Mace and wife of Seminole OK, and three children: son, Jamin and wife Casey; daughter Lauren and husband Safak Durmus; son, Jack and wife Tara. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Joules and Kera. Services will be held Thursday, December 3rd, at 10:00 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Okarche OK with Reverends Jeff Klade and David Ersland officiating.
