I will forever miss my friend Kevin.
We met at the YMCA when he was 10 and I was 11. We learned weeks later that he lived three houses away from me. Kevin and his parents were special friends to me, much like family . They took me to Cades Cove in the Smokey Mountains my first time. Kevin and I went there the summer Kevin learned to drive. I go back as often as life allows and always remember swimming at tge "Y" near Touwnsend, Tn.
Kevin Clark Van Gilder, age 63, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2022 at his residence.

He was born on May 24, 1959 to Clifford and Violet (Gosnell) Van Gilder in Middletown, Ohio.

Kevin worked in management at Procter and Gamble for over 20 years. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, bike riding and making up stories to tell his children and grandchildren.

He was a graduate of University of Kentucky where he earned his Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering.

Survivors include his son – Ryan (Kristen) Van Gilder; 3 daughters – Jennifer (Carl) Lathum, Macey Van Gilder and Bailey Van Gilder (fiancé, Kobe); 2 step-daughters – Jamie Lamburth and Ashley (Justin) Williamson; 9 grandchildren – Brooks Van Gilder, Blakely Van Gilder, Kinsley Lathum, Ella Lathum, Lukas Gantt, Danielle Carter, Byron Carter, Jaylen Carter and Brionna Lamburth; 3 sisters – Linda Kelley, Janie Van Gilder and Carolyn Van Gilder; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
