About	Obituary of CDR Cyril Griffin CDR Cyril G. Griffin, U.S.N., Ret., 98 passed away peacefully with family present on Sunday, June 7, 2015 at The Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center in Providence, RI. Beloved husband of the late Joan C. Griffin of Middletown, RI, son of the late Gerald and Eulalia Griffin of Lakeland, FL, loving father of Patrick C. Griffin and his wife Donna H. Griffin of Middletown, RI, Joanne C. Griffin of San Diego, CA, proud grandfather of Patrick D. Griffin, Matthew C. Griffin and Brigid E. Griffin. Cyril, or “Cy” as he was known was born in Chicago, IL on August 24, 1916. He was a Navy ROTC graduate from Northwestern University in Chicago with a degree in Civil Engineering; His final occupation was as a mathematics teacher at Middletown High School. RI.
