About Me	Following high school I worked at the University of Iowa as a clerk and then secretary for the UI Athletic Department in Sports Promotion. Rick and I were married in 1980 and then moved to Denver CO in 1982. We loved the state and enjoyed golfing, hiking, camping, and snow skiing. I worked as natural gas liquids manager for an oil and gas company and later worked for airborne express. In 1993 we moved back to Iowa and bought a house in Washington. Rick began working for the University of Iowa first as a programmer and then as IT director in the College of Public Health Clinical Trials and Statistical Data Management Center. I completed my AA from Kirkwood Community College in 1993, my BA from the University of Iowa in 1995, and my masters at the University of Iowa in 1997. I worked in the field as a couselor and clinical supervisor and later directed a homeless case management program and a persons and their children halfway program in Iowa City. In 2002, we sold our house and bought an acreage southeast of Kalona which we absolutely love. In 2004, I began working as Director of Training for the Addiction Technology Transfer Center and have been working for the federal government providing clinician training, developing curricula, and providing technical assistance in our five-state region and throughout the US.
