About	Michael Patrick Olon, 62, departed this life from his Kendall home on March 28, 2014. A graduate of Miami High and FSU, "Mike" then began 40 years of public service at the U of M Police Dept, later joined Virginia Gardens PD and rose to the rank of Chief before joining Florida Dept of Financial Services in 1995 as a Detective in the Insurance Fraud Division and later at the Bureau of Fire and Arson Investigations. Mike also taught at the Miami Dade College academy. Friends and coworkers knew him as a big man, generous and gentle in spirit. His leisure time as spent outdoors hunting and fishing.
