Class of 1977
Navy, 15 Years
Navy, 1977 - 1992. Left Naval service during the President Bill Clinton drawdown in the 90's. Served aboard USS Independence, USS America and shakedown cruises aboard USS Theodore Roosevelt. Visited countries all over the world and my favorites were Spain and Australia.

Donald E. Peters
Class of 1965
Navy, 20+ Years
Enlisted in Navy in 1968. Navy sent me to Purdue University in the NESEP program. After graduation in 1972, was commissioned an Ensign. Rose to the rank of Captain (O6), commanded the USS John Hancock and Naval Station Ingleside in Texas. Retired after 33 years of service.

Gerold Quillen
Class of 1970
Navy, 4 Years
Stationed a Patuxent River Naval Test Center. Duties were test and evaluation of all the Navy's aviation ordnance. I was an A-7 Corsair plane captain, an air crewman on P-3 Orion's for anti submarine warfare as well as other aircraft. I had the privilege to fly back seat in the OV-10 recon aircraft and back seat in F-4 Phantom Fighter. I served briefly on the USS Coral Sea CVS 43 and the USS Independence CV 62 both aircraft carriers. While in the reserves ( 3years) was assigned to the USS Vereeland DE 1068 a ballistic missile ship.

I was a meteorologist serving all over the world and on numerous ships. I retired after 24 years.

Navy, 3 Years
Enlisted in 1966 at Indianapolis, Boot Camp in Chicago, Engineering School in Davisville, RI, Escape & Evasion School and Counterinsurgency Training in Little Creek, Virginia. Three 9-month tours of duty in Danang, Vietnam with Public Works Division as a Seabee (Construction Battalion). Worked nights as a Bartender in Enlisted Men's Club. Released from Active Duty as Petty Officer 2nd Class (eq. Staff Sergeant) in Saigon in 1969 and worked as Chief Field Engineer for RMK-BRJ Construction Company for 1 year; married in Vietnam and 1st son was born in Danang in 1969. The 3 of us returned home for Christmas, 1969. Life was pretty tough, as you can see in the Photo.
