About	Vernon Lee Henry died on the 17th March in Kettering, here in England. He was born in Meyersdale on the 1st June 1921, and graduated from the High School in 1939 - he appears on the front row of the graduation photo taken at the time. He served in the USAAF during WW2, and it was then that he met and married my mother in England. In 1945, after discharge from the USAAF, he returned to live with his parents in Connellsville, and my mother and I joined him shortly thereafter. In 1947, we returned to England where my parents took over the family ironmongery business, which they ran until their retirement in 1986. Lee never returned to the USA, something that he regretted towards the end of his life. My mother died suddenly in 1999, and he never really got over it. He was cremated and the bulk of his ashes were scattered with those of my mother's, but I kept some which I brought over to Meyersdale about a month ago, and his sisters and brother scattered them on the graves of their grandparents in the Union Cemetery.
