I'm Arthur Nutt. Mexia HS band director 1980 to 1993. I knew Raymond as a Band Director and not as an alum of Mexia High School. He was a great musician. He judged my bands more than once and always gave good ideas for improvement. Raymond always had a smile and almost closed eyes. He squinted. That and his smile was his "signature." I would have liked to had Raymond as an assistant or as I would have liked to be his assistant especially in Mexia. The band world is a better place because of Raymond Thomas.
